Sadly the iPhone we had was dropped down the inside (better than in the river) of my friend's waders. I needed to get the fish back in the water so only a mental picture.

That is without a doubt one of the most clever smokescreen excuses I have ever heard!!

Seriously, congrats. I know the feeling....I took my Dad bass fishing in Florida a few years ago and we were using topwater baits. I caught a 10 pound largemouth and when she circled the bait and took the lure it looked like someone flushed the lake.

We were using our cell phones as bait so we don't have any pictures either......

Now that you mention it, it does sound VERY fishy. I can honestly say I caught one, "Scouts Honor." This was an expedition with my son's Boy Scout troop.

Even better - memories for a lifetime for two. I am also involved with scouting - my son earned his Eagle badge back in 2005. We have a ton of great memories from those years.

Although coming up with something good to say about three night on top of Loft Mountain in Shenandoah National Park with lows of -7 at night and a half foot of snow on top of our tent might be tough. Good thing someone invented a tent heater!!

Enjoy your scouting time with your son - I wouldn't trade mine for anything.

Congrats to your son on his Eagle. I earned mine way back when as well so I know the time and dedication he put into it. It's great to hear you had a good time of it as well. -7 sounds a little cold for me. We'll be going snow camping up on Mt. Hood in February. Better dig out my long johns and wool socks.

Congrats anyway....

never got into fly fishing myself, but I still get excited when I catch one on my spin-casting outfit...sadly I don't fish as much as I'd like but retirement looms

Mmm... fish in the morning, golf in the afternoon, dinner with Mrs. Wine in the evening. Now I just need to find a way to finance all my retirement plans.
